You know that scene in friends were Pheobe is going to have sex with that scientist (I forgot his name, the one who goes to either Prague or Kiev - I haven’t seen those episodes in a while) and he’s going to sweep all the stuff off of his desk but then he realises that his microscope is expensive? and then he starts moving valuable things and then Pheobe says something like “Are we having sex or tidying up?”

Well, I imagine that such a situation is incredibly likely in my future. There’s not much romantic about stumbling over your words or making a fool of yourself.

The thing that has been out recently due to Panorama and a series of comments from footballers about the racism in Ukraine is actually unbelievable

There are other videos showing huge blocks of supporters chanting and doing Nazi salutes. We’re sending 23 players, 8 of whom are not white and are therefore in danger in Ukraine. It’s horrendous - the families of two of the mixed-race players (Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walcott) aren’t going for fear of their own safety. The police are useless and largely turn a blind eye, as do the Polish and Ukrainian football associations.

You’re always going to get extreme right wingers. People like Anders Breivik will always exist and there’s not much we can do to stop that, but to have huge groups of people screaming fascist, racist and antisemitic chants it’s just horrendous.

If anything, I feel the situation in Ukraine/Poland really highlights how far the world still has to go. The antisemitism is something I feel particularly disturbing. In a world that fought back against antisemitic regimes, to see it revived so strongly is quite horrible. In fact, it’s probably one of the most widespread and unnoticed forms of discrimination. You’d be surprised how many people ‘don’t like’ Jews if you were to ask them, many without any sort of justification. Yet people do dislike them, conspiracies remain about Jews ‘ruling the world’, people still believe Jews are ‘dirty’

It’s a joke that UEFA even let Ukraine and Poland host the tournament, a multicultural tournament, when their country is so hostile.

and erm, I’m not sure. I wouldn’t say I look for anything in particular, it’s not like I have a checklist or anything.

That being said, the general trends from my past and my present would certainly suggest that I’m more interested in girls who are into similar things to myself (in terms of books, music, films etc.)

also, anyone who is actually like interesting to talk to. Someone with anecdotes, someone who can crack a joke (when appropriate - I wouldn’t be able to stand somebody who is never serious) and I could hold an interesting conversation with. Someone who has opinions, doesn’t just say ‘yeah’ to everything and nod along.

and in terms of what I ‘look for’, image wise (again it’s not so much look for but past evidence suggests) I tend to be more attracted to shorter girls. I’ve never been someone for humongous boobs or bum, I suppose I’m quite attracted to ‘petite’ girls (that doesn’t mean I don’t find taller/larger people attractive, of course)

I’m really in two minds. I have moments when I feel that I do, quite madly, and then mere moments later I will feel that I’m being silly and stupid and that perhaps I do not.

I’m afraid I simply don’t know myself.
